Sample Chapters Reader Reviews Post Season Survey Meet the Author

Here is a portion of the positive comments received from our survey.

  • 10 Fantasy Teams 8 made the playoffs and 6 are still in.
  • Very thorough and easily understood.  I had the best record in my league compared to a last place finish last season!
  • Both teams are in the Super Bowl!
  • I'm a 10 year FF player and I did enjoy your book.  I didn't get a chance to read it until well into the season and I still haven't finished it but I plan to reread it next summer.  I like your ideas on preparing cheat sheets and plan on implementing some of those things.
  • And, to fully answer one of the questions in the survey; I just finished re-reading your book before the post-season started.  I'll definitely be reading it before the next draft.
  • Great book, I would recommend it to everyone, but, I enjoy having a secret weapon.
  • I am the favorite in the champ game of a WCOFF Satellite League.  Winning will pay all expenses to 2007 WCOFF.  Last year I finished last and middle of the pack in two Satellite leagues.
  • Made the playoffs if 6 of 7 leagues (7th lost out on a tie breaker)
  • I appreciate someone trying to give us fantasy geeks a roadmap for success.  I used the book as a reference to either enforce my personal strategies or prove that I needed to think differently.  So overall I didn't see this book as THE way to dominate my leagues but another reference to make me a smarter player.  And yes I did end up in the playoffs in 5 of 6 leagues, and as the top seed in three of the five playoff teams.
  • Great book! I went from a big fish in my league to a SHARK! I am currently in the final 4 of the playoffs in a 14 man league and very excited!
  • Book was very good. Was able to make the playoffs in 4 out of 6 teams. Thanks!
  • I'm in two leagues, one a 12-teamer and the other a 16-teamer.  Made the playoffs in both and still alive in the 16 teamer.  I followed your strategy of drafting Gates in the 3rd round in the 16 teamer (you're right, it did hurt) but I do believe it has given me an advantage.  Also, your suggestion on purchasing footballguys.com has been very helpful.
  • I think your book was great and I enjoyed all your strategies and I will re-read before every year. I was in 4 leagues my worst record was 9-4.
  • I am currently in the semi-finals and I am 4 points away from the Championship game.  The book provided me with some additional tips and information that I used throughout the season.  I am a veteran fantasy player and walked away from reading the book with a few new ideas to implement.  Overall, I am pleased.  I will look to employ the same strategies next season.
  • If nothing else, learning and using new knowledge made this season more enjoyable. The better you can get at anything, the more fun it is.
  • This book provided some of the best insight that I have ever seen for FF. I particularly liked the draft strategy the best as it allowed me to end up with a great core group of players. In addition, I was able to make strategic choices with the waiver wire and trades which strengthened me, as opposed to "saving" me from a hole. I even used some of the strategies in the book during the playoffs to "keep away" certain players from teams that needed them.
  • I have been waiting for a book like this one.  This was my first year I used this book, and I improved a lot in my mind.  There were a lot of thing in the book that I wasn't able to use because of my old habits.  I have six and a half months to absorb more and plan on reading this book quite a few more times.  A very helpful book.  Thanks.
  • The book challenged me to re-appraise my over-all draft strategy as well as focused me on a longer range (championship) point of view on my talent selections.
  • I got into the finals but I’m up against a monster team. The assistant coaches helped big time during the season.
  • I found the book very useful in many ways.  It brings to your attention things that may be lying dormant in your mind. I did not agree with all parts in the book that is why I marked question 4 the way I did.  I would highly recommend this book to ALL fantasy players EXCEPT the players in my league....   Must keep that to myself, sorry.  I plowed through this book over the summer, very easy read - entertaining also.  I will refresh my mind again in future seasons.  I did not get to the final chapters yet, but have mastered creating my own cheat sheet FOREVER.  I played in 8 money leagues including a 16 team league. 5 of 8 teams took 1st and looking to score some serious cash.
  • This year, I made it to the championship round in 5 out of 8 leagues I played in thanks to the excellent advice given in the book. There is simply no better instructional guide from start to finish on how to be in the championship round in fantasy football.
  • A lot of good information. I knew a lot of it already, but it's handy to have in a concise manner.
  • Randy, thank you for your book, your time, and your patience. I'm going to encourage everyone, not playing in leagues I'm in (smile), to buy this book. I hope there is a sequel to this book and if there is, put me down now for its purchase!
  • My league has been intact since 1994, and we are TD-heavy with a bunch of whales and a few sharks. The book was not really geared toward a league like mine, but I read it cover-to-cover and found some useful tips and strategies. I don't play in online leagues - ours is more about pride and trash-talk and less about winning money.
  • Partly due to this book I am in the finals of a High Roller League (The top 12 players in an 84 team league for the big bucks). Thanks
  • I've been involved in FFootball for 15 years and I made the playoffs in more leagues this year (8), than ever before.
  • The book truly DOES prepare you for things that come up before and during a fantasy season that you may have never thought of before.
  • Thank you for such a fine book.
  • I've been playing f-football for numerous years, and have been somewhat successful, but after reading your book, I used your strategies to make the playoffs in every league that I was in.  The WR idea is something that I never considered before, almost always going RB-RB in the 1st 2 rounds, then filling in my wide outs later down the road.  Most of the leagues I participate in use 3 WR, 2 RB, and a flex, so it some tweaking from your draft outline, but seeing I always felt the TE was most important to have, it didn't take too much.  Excellent book and I'll definitely read up again on it going into next year.
  • I actually received your book after my draft but quickly used your post draft strategies and made some very critical trades that resulted in me winning my league's Super Bowl today!!!  I plan to re-read the book immediately and look forward to dominating my league again in 2007!!!  Excellent book!!!
  • Your book was a good read. All knowledge is rewarding. I made it to the Superbowl, but lost. I achieved my goal of making it to the Superbowl and know of a few changes I'll try next season. I did take advantage of you suggested website Fantasy Football Guys and loved it. I will use them again next year. I need to spend more time understanding all the content they offer and use its fullest potential.
  • This book gave me the confidence to try an online league that I had to draft my players for and I won! Thank you! There is still a lot I can learn and implement. I can hardly wait for next year!
  • Great book.  Have heard of, or found out most of these strategies before, but a few were new to me.  I think that little bit helped me become an even better player this year.
In my 5 teams I made playoffs in all 5 and won the championship in 2 out of 5.
  • I think the book is great, I won my first championship.
  • I am already looking towards next season and I plan to re-read your book several times before.
  • Randy, Your book is tremendous and a must for all fantasy players. I am in two leagues and made the playoffs in both. Of course luck is involved, but you gave me knowledge that was essential to my games. Please accept my heartfelt thanks, and congratulations for writing a most important book for all Fantasy Football Players.
  • Just wanted to give you guys some props after the year I had in 2006 after reading the book.  For years I have toiled in mediocrity, making the playoffs in almost all my leagues but never quite being able to break through.  In fact, most years I was "one and done" in the playoffs.  This year was my breakthrough year, thanks to the information in your book.
  • It was an amazing year that I'll never forget.  My buddies are in awe at the fantasy football prowess I displayed this year, and that feels oh so good.  I owe it to you guys.  Thanks for writing this book and giving guys like me an opportunity to DOMINATE!!
  • The book was a great tool.  I'm in six leagues and I made the playoffs in all six, with first round byes in three of those leagues.  Hopefully I'm on my way to a couple of championships!!
  • I am in the championship games. I will have a favorable match up with every starter that I will play thanks to your book. I drafted in the 11th slot and ended up 8-5 in the regular (2nd overall. I was the top scorer averaging 100 points a game. I scored 110 points in the semifinal game.
I actually had 4 teams.  All of them made the playoffs and all 4 are in the semis.  I think I lost in my most competitive league, but the other three are still going strong after the wacky 15th week in the NFL.  Thanks for the help.
  • This was a very informative book.
  • What I had been missing was starting with the end in mind.  I have not been drafting looking at late season schedules (which do tend to change), nor when trading.  I think that is the real advantage of the book.  I will reread sections of it next year to brush up on the techniques, but don't expect to read the whole book.  I also learned that I am not nearly as good a FF as I thought I was!

  • Pros:  The single biggest help I received from the book was drafting my team with an eye toward the week 14-16 games, which are our fantasy playoffs.  Looking at the matchups during those weeks definitely helped me - in fact I am in 2 or 3 Championship games this weekend thanks to that strategy alone. The one Championship I'm not in is a tight salary-cap league, hence my request for help (perhaps in a new book?)  Additional insights provided about waiver wire pick-ups were also very helpful.

  • Made my playoffs for the first time in my league and am in the championship game
  • I thought your book was outstanding. I've been in a re-draft league for several years now. I even won the championship in 2003. Once you win, you want it back. I've been a user of the footballguys draft dominator for a couple of years. Between that and your book this year, I finished with identical 11-3 records in the 2 leagues I was in. The book made me consider something I had never concentrated on, and that’s the fact that you should be focusing in on the post season more than just the regular season. Once you understand that all you need is 8 wins and you’re in, work for the post season. There is a tricky part though, as the SOS is dynamic. How one team's SOS looks in the beginning of the season is far different than what it looks like at the end. Also, personnel changes at a position can screw up your post season plans at WR, based on a teams SOS. All in all, your book was a great read. I will definitely read it again before next years draft and hopefully pick up a couple more nuggets of wisdom. Thanks for your efforts, great job.

  • Overall, it's a great book that I will be using again next year.  It was well worth my investment.
  • I entered 3 leagues this year, compared to my usual 1, and made the playoffs in all three.
  • 5 leagues, made playoff in 3, still in 2.  Last year, I didn't make the playoffs in any leagues I played in let alone finish in the top five.

  • Great Book, I made the championship game!
  • I was in three leagues. I made the playoffs in all three. I lost in the first round in one league. I'm still going in the other two.
  • I made some mistakes during the season that lead to missing the playoffs by a 13 point tiebreak. However, without the couple of mistakes, I would have advanced on to the second round of the playoffs and would be leading that match up currently with Monday Night Football still to play.  This at least makes me confident that the ideas in the book still worked out, I just didn’t quite make it far enough to see the results.  The main problem was that we keep two players every year, and re draft completely after 3 years. Next year is the redraft so I look forward to implementing the strategies fully next year.  Thanks.
  • We made the finals, so we will see next week. Your advice on the wire and trades was great. I worked the hell out of the wire to get to the playoffs. Your draft strategy is just impossible to use. There are basically no players who meet all the criteria for o-line, weather, playoff match up, etc. If there are, they aren't available unless you pick first. A more practical system would be nice. Couldn't use that part at all. But the book definitely helped. I went from ninth out of ten to third out of twelve (with a shot to win it all) this year. Thanks for the assist!
  • Made play offs, should have drafted a defense as per your strategy.

  • I thought the book was great, but my overall success this year was down.  I am in 4 leagues.  I made the playoffs in 2.  I got knocked out in the first round in one and am in the Superbowl in the other.
  • I entered 3 different fantasy leagues this year.  One I did Auto Pick, one I did live just on gut feelings, and the last one I did live using the guidelines from your book.  Of those, it looks like I'm finishing 3rd in the auto pick league, 1st in the gut league, and 9th in the league where I used your book.  That hasn't made me doubt your practices, just my implementation of them.  You see, I drafted Lamont Jordan and Chris Chambers as my lead guys at their position (ouch).  I did go for Antonio Gates in all my leagues, and he did contribute in some close matches.  Overall, I'm glad I bought it, and I'll use it again next year.
  • I did not have time to really get to speed and implement your strategies fully, except for using the waiver wire. I will be rereading the book and using at more of it as I prepare for next year. Using the waiver wire was the most important strategy I used this year, and this allowed me to finish in the playoffs for the first time in my brief 5 year history of playing fantasy football. I am still playing, although I will not be in the title game. I will finish either 3rd or 4th depending on next week’s outcome.
  • DFF got me into the semis, but all the knowledge ever discovered can't help a team whose studs have their worst games {e.g. Brees, Gates) at the wrong and same time.

  • I am pretty savvy in the world of Fantasy; I really enjoyed the book and took some solid pieces of information from it.  This year was just brutal and everything that could have happened against me did!

  • The book was interesting and provided good fantasy insight.

  • My team is playing for the championship this coming week (I'm sure your not surprised).  I didn't get the book as early as needed to implement all aspects before the draft.  I took what I could and went from there.  I'm sure I'll be a lot better next year.
  • Very nice.  Won my league.  I will use it again next year.
  • I am in a 10 man league and our playoffs started in week 15. I will be playing for the championship game next weekend. I have been in 2nd place most of the season. I should have never lost a game, but I gave up a couple of losses at the beginning. However, I was also in a 12 man league and finished next to last. I got squeaked by on less than a couple of points on most of the losses. I will definitely be re-reading the book to prepare of next year
  • Very good book. I liked the creation of the cheatsheets. It also helped me a ton with my tiers. Might have made just enough of a difference to win the Superbowl this year. I have never not made the playoffs but I have never won the whole league. Hope it pays off.
  • I especially thought your comments about draft order were prescient.  You advised that 80% of experts advised taking running backs in the first 2-3 rounds and indicated that the premier wide receivers were the better pickup in rounds 2-3.  I followed your advice while enduring sneers from my fellow owners.  As the season wore on, I kept on the waiver wire and eventually filled the holes in my running back position while other owners searched in vain for top notch receivers.
Now, other experts are starting to come off of their "running back only" advice.  They now say that taking a wide receiver in the second round is not as bad as they once thought.
  • IN THE SUPER BOWL BABY!!!! Well...close....my opponent has one player remaining (D Rhodes) but needs to get a game which surpassing any that LT has had all year long (he needs about 200 yards and 5 TDs from a time share RB in a Passing system...so....while I am not there yet...I feel pretty good).
  • I liked the book; I'm actually so busy I haven't finished it yet.  You think outside the box, which is what I want to see when I read an instructional book.  I plan on using some of the strategies I learned next year.
  • I loved the book.  It was the first book I read on the subject matter - because I always thought my previous knowledge base was sufficient.   I'm proud to say I'm in the Championship game this year, and your book (and luck of course) was certainly a factor.
  • Like most other learning dynamics, effectively applying what was learned takes experience. Some things worked, some didn't, but it's important to know which decisions need to be stayed with even when they don't seem to work at the outset.

  • The book is very informative.  It is a very valuable tool for the beginner & intermediate FF player.  Sharks like me know most of the theories in the book but it is nice to be reminded of a lot of them before the season starts.
  • Thanks to the info in the book I have made the playoffs in 4 out 5 leagues and I am in the superbowl in two of them.  Thanks for the insight and guidance.
  • I'm in the finals with great matchups this weekend in our Super Bowl. I have 7 out of 8 players at home this weekend. In my second league I made the semifinals.
  • I'm in the finals of 2 out of 3 CBS leagues, one where I was in your division (Pouting House Blues). I made the finals in spite of taking Shaun Alexander for my first pick. I found your book most helpful and definitely plan on rereading it on a regular basis. Your take on the game is extremely insightful.

  • Where do I start..Last was my first year to join a FF league..I was last like you said usually happens. This year I read your book, and let me tell you what a difference...We play  2 games a week (until playoffs)and went 10-0..(the last undefeated team) I stayed in first all year long, even when I lost Mcnabb for the year..This week I'll be playing for the championship...So thank you for putting out a book that helps..One thing I do wish I did was read some parts again during the year..Over all was impressed with your info
  • Because of the book, I participated in two Sportsline leagues for the first time.  I was competitive up till the end in both and missed the playoffs in one by an eyelash.  I expect to play more Sportsline leagues next year and I WILL DOMINATE!!

  • I felt the book was invaluable in setting a winning strategy for the Sportsline leagues.  I was skeptical about the amount of help it would provide for the WCOFF format (20 round draft, so waiver wire improvement is much more difficult); however I went from not a clue last year to probably winning this year in that format.  The big difference in my team (finished 3rd in regular season) and the top two teams, is mine is stronger for weeks 15 & 16.  At mid-season I wasn't in the top 6, but I had the highest team score in weeks 12-14.  Sound familiar?  It is difficult to put a direct finger on the reason, but I believe it is largely due to the book "Dominate Fantasy Football."  Thanks much, I am a convert.

  • Very good information. 7 leagues 5 playoffs 4 superbowls, have not played superbowls yet.
  • My team led our 12-team league at 11-3.  GREAT BOOK!!!
  • I'm in three leagues and I finished in as the first place seed in two and came within two points in the last game of first place in the third.
  • I've been in a 12 team league for about 11 years.  I won it back in 2003.  I've been the most dominating regular season team for past 5 years.  Playoffs every year but only 1 championship to show for it.  Last year I got out to huge regular season lead and started organizing my roster for the playoffs... however the great 'paper' matchups failed me and I lost in first round.   This year I read your book and picked up a few good ideas... but mainly it just gave me confidence that I had the right strategy (draft and make moves to strengthen yourself for playoffs).  This year I started 1-4 then rattled off 8 straight wins to clinch playoff spot.  I've got huge lead this week (going into wk 15 Monday night game) and look very strong to move to championship game in week 16.   I enjoyed book.  Thanks.
  • I have two teams: one will play in the championship game next week; the other missed making the playoffs in a tiebreaker.
  • I made the semi final in all the leagues I was in.  I am thanking your book for the progress.  It made me have a goal and focus on the prize.

  • I HAVE BEEN PLAYING FF FOR A GOOD EIGHTEEN YRS AND I THOUGHT YOUR BOOK WAS GREAT.I HAVEN'T EVEN FINISHED IT YET.I WILL FINISH IT IN THE OFF-SEASON.I PLAYED IN FIVE LEAGUES THIS YEAR AND HAD LARRY JOHNSON AND ANTONIO GATES IN AT LEAST THREE OF THEM.UNFORTUNATLY I DO TOO MUCH TRADING.BY WEEK FIVE I HAD TRADED LJ IN THREE LEAGUES.NO PATIENCE I GUESS.EVERY YEAR I LEARN SOMETHING NEW.YOUR BOOK WAS DONE VERY NICELY.ARE YOU SAYING IT APPLYS TO NEXT YEAR ALSO.
  • The book was very helpful with strategy during draft and the overall nature of the book. The section about having 6 or 7 RB's on the bench was a life-saver this season. Made the playoffs in three leagues. Thanks for great info!
  • I was in four leagues this year, and went to the playoffs in three of them and I am doing well up to this point, your book has helped me do that.
  • I am in the playoffs and I hope to win this week and get into the SuperBowl next week.  I am very glad I did not draft TE high.  I did like the advice about drafting for the final weeks.
  • A great addition to any fantasy football library!

  • I'm playing for the championship next week! The biggest thing I learned was to be patient through the season. The championship game has always been my goal and now I'm here!
  • It was very easy to read and understand. There was so much to digest that I had to read certain chapters 2-3 times.  One fact that stands out was to draft your defense early if you play in the CBS league. I was always told to wait until the last couple of rounds to draft your def. Well I didn't follow your advice but I watched to see if it would have made a difference. If I would have drafted the Bears when I had a chance I would have won in been in the playoffs in all of my leagues (4), however I did make the playoffs in two.  Thanks for the book, it definitely made a difference.
  • Overall, the insight from the book either reinforced my thinking or brought some new insights into my consideration.

  • I will definitely look to read again next year and apply as I deem appropriate.

  • Right now I am in the semi-finals in one of my leagues.  Having two overpowering receivers is helping me.  My two starting RB's (K. Jones and R. Brown) are hurt, but having Holt and Wayne is making up for it.  Good overall read!
  • I won my division this year and am awaiting the second round of the playoffs. I actually won the super bowl last year so I am looking to retain my title!!!
  • I thought that you did a great job bringing together a lot of information and that the book was well worth its price. I had 9 teams this year and all of them made the playoffs. I finished first in 4 of the leagues, second in 3 of the leagues, and 4th and 5th in the other 2 leagues (all were 12 team leagues). We'll see how the playoffs and super bowls go, but I hope I can win a few of them.
  • I was very impressed with your book.  I felt real good about the information but injuries made my season less successful than I had hoped.
  • I will be in my first superbowl this year.  And I am optimized for weeks 15/16 thanks to you.
  • I'm looking forward to refining the strategies you lay out in the book next year, after analyzing what I could have done differently this off-season.  Next year will be a worst to best dominating year using the strategies from the DFF book!
  • I thought you did a terrific job!  I made the playoffs for the first time ever, and while I am a decided underdog to my next opponent, (He has Tomlinson and Gates) I felt like I made a lot of progress.

  • I have played fantasy football for several years and have started to lean toward your strategies before even reading the book but I was always hesitant based on everybody (including "experts") preaching the value of RB. This book basically reiterated feelings that I was starting to have about FF, particularly, the WR and RB position. I was one of those owners that would draft RB, RB, and RB and consequently, I would never end up with a quality WR (which now I feel is paramount to the success of any fantasy team). I have done such a 180 in my thinking that in my two money leagues this year I didn't draft my 2nd runner until the 6th round and just loaded up on quality WR, a good TE. The leagues I play in start a flex player and award a point-per-reception (where I feel that the theories laid out in your book are even more valuable). I then loaded up on potential solid #2 RB, hoping one would pan out (and in today’s RBBC they always did). It is now amazing to me that I ever thought about FF any other way, and I can't believe how many other owners are still in the dark and draft like how I used to. The book is excellent and I would recommend it to anyone that was not in my fantasy leagues!

  • I really enjoyed your book.  I especially liked the part about drafting for a Championship rather than just drafting good players.  I started off the season with a disciplined approach and was using the waiver wire effectively.  However, as outside demands increased, I had less and less time to devote to FF.  However, I plan to refine my system during the off-season and will be re-reading your book as I prep for 2007.
  • Overall, a good approach.  Can be adjusted for individual use.  Felt your endorsement of certain "assistant coaches" missed the mark.  Found FF champs useless compared to my other sites (FF mastermind, primarily).  Preseason planning portions very helpful, compared with in season advice.

  • Thanks.  Well worth the money.  Enjoyed it, and wonder if you'll be putting out new additions.  This was the best book that I've come around.  I know now (in the 15th week) that I don't need to make as many trades and drops as I did.  Next year will be better!!
  • Although I didn't make the playoffs your book has helped me greatly.  I drafted tenth out of twelve teams. I finished the league in sixth place.  Your book helped me a lot.  I feel I did real well for my first year and I have already started my journal for next season.
  • I've been playing fantasy football since 1992 and I have to say that you wrote an excellent book.  I especially liked how you emphasized playoffs being the focus, even pre-draft.  It seems to be an obvious point, but most owners before the draft focus mostly on targeting their favorite players (or for vets of fantasy football, certain fantasy stud players).  Great format of the book, great explanatory and historical information.  You might even think about sizing it down a bit and making it a "pocket size fantasy domination guide".  It would be cool to be able to pull out a smaller version during the draft just to stay focused.  Overall a great product.

  • I made the playoffs in both of my leagues.  I will probably finish 2nd and 3rd.  I really think this book helped.

  • In a major money league I've been playing in for the last 5 years which I made the playoffs and never made it to the championship game, this year after implementing some of your strategies, I've made to the championship game.  I am thankful but the goal is to WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP which I will let you know the results after week 16.
  • The best part about your book was to consider the championship game at the draft.  I always looked forward and took the playoffs schedule into consideration but the championship game is even more important than the playoffs... thanks so much.  Great book!

  •  Overall, I enjoyed the book and will look forward to any updated editions that come out.
  • Now, if I could just pick the right players.  Only one playoff team in seven leagues.  This season was a good prep for next year.  Need to down size.  Since I have a more than full time job and a personal business as well, I'm going to downsize and see if improvement goes up.  Thanks for writing your book.  It will be a great guide and reminder going forward. I am on pace to be in three suberbowls next week.  Pieces of the book were used throughout the season.  Nice job.  I look forward to any updates to the book.

  • I thought that the book was very useful. Well, considering I had 7 teams, 2 came in first, 2 came in second, 1 came in fifth, and the last 2 came in below fifth, unfortunately. I would definitely use this book again.
  • Made the playoff with both my teams and the book helped.
  • I've always played in private leagues, 1 auction, 1 big league and 1 small league.  When I saw this book I figured I'd shoot for the moon and try to play in some Platinum Leagues at CBS Sportsline, 4 actually.  Work kind of took up more time than I had anticipated and I didn't get to take full advantage of the waiver wire (I live in Fiji, the time difference is horrendous), so I missed a few key pick-ups, but, I'm happy to say that I made the playoffs in 2 of the 4 leagues.  All things being equal, I should make it to the final game in both leagues, unless Bulger gets knocked out of the game early today, and I have a pretty good shot at bringing home the bacon in both of them.  Not bad for a first time Platinum League'r, next year I'll make more time for sure.

  • I didn't agree with some things in the book. I played in 9 leagues and only 1 playoff team in the bunch. So I will be rethinking what I didn't agree with. Thanks for the entry into the survival pool it was fun I made it to week eight. There were an awful lot of upsets in this season. All in all I gained knowledge and had a lot of fun
  • I sucked this year. I had your book in mind and deviated in the draft a little, perhaps too much. My running backs were the worst in the league, but my WR were the best. I wish I would have listened to your defensive advice, as Chicago and Baltimore were clearly a cut above everyone.

  • The one thing which I started to do was to drop my kicker during the week to pick up an extra position player and maximize my 'bility for the week.
  • I'm in the playoffs in the one league I'm in.  Second in my division. Will pay more attention to my lineup next year.  Several games I should have won but made wrong choices on starters - had players on the bench that would have won for me. Some luck involved in that, but I need to work on analysis and figure out what experts to trust.
  • I played in three leagues and finished 8-5 (knocked out in first round of playoffs), 7-6 (missed playoffs on a tie breaker) and 7-5-1 and playing in championship next week.  All in all, it was a decent season and I think your book helped me to elevate my game.
  • This is a great book and I would highly refer it to beginning FFL users and some who think that they're that good.  It's a little hard to evaluate since I already use an online site, Draftsharks that I've been using for at least four years.  They are very thorough and do duplicate some of the information that you have to offer.  But overall a very good book to have.
  • Unfortunately, I did not get the book until midway into the season, and it was too late.  I hope it will help me to have better leagues next season.
  • Overall, there was good information, but some of it did not apply because of the kind of league I play in. We carry big rosters and have 2 keepers each, so our waiver wire is not as useful as your book suggests. I had to do lots of adjusting, as you warn.

  • The tone of the book implied or assumed I'd be playing against novices and, by reading your book, I'd be way ahead of my opponents. I play in a league with friends who all play Fantasy Football at an expert level and seek out information throughout the season, so the 'rah-rah' stuff was a little distracting.

  • I did make the playoffs, but won't make it to the championship. Overall, I'm satisfied with my season.
  • I made the playoffs in 3 out of 4 leagues. I won't know until after Monday nights game how many championship games I am in. I know at least one for sure. Overall the book was very helpful. If possible it would have been nice to have some advice we could have used once we made the playoffs. I think planning to be in the championship game from week one and planning for it is so very important. I never knew how valuable knowing matchups were until after I read your book.
